Ando Study: 4x4 House

This project is a building study of the 4x4 house by Tadao Ando. The project aims to train drafting, model making and observation skills. Drawings were reproduced at various scales and three models were constructed during the course of this project. It helped gain understanding to drawing conventions, scale, and translation from digital to analog. Lighting and thermal analysis of the building was done in Autodesk Ecotect, the complete report can be found here.

The 4x4 House is located in Hyogo, Kobe, Japan, across from Awaji Island, the epicenter of the Kobe Earthquake.
